Blackmore’s Night, “No Physical Boundaries on Love”
“We do sort of have a mystical vibe and we’re inspired by nature, but we do it almost for self preservation. Ritchie had been in rock and well known in that industry, so when we started creating this music, it was really as an escape from the stress and pressures of the music industry. So, that escape actually just turned into a bunch of songs that we started playing around the house for friends … and it made us realize that if our friends like it and of course we love it, maybe other people would, too.” Candice Night
Blackmore’s Night is a British/American traditional folk rock duo formed in 1997, consisting of Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple, Rainbow – acoustic and electric guitar) and Candice Night (lead vocals, lyricist and multi-instrumentalist).
Candice Night was a Rainbow fan, and first encountered Ritchie Blackmore to ask him for an autograph in 1989, while she was working for a local New York radio station.
The two started living together in 1991, and discovered they both had a passionate interest in Renaissance music
CN & RB Getting Married
“We get so drawn to doing things that some people might look at and say, ‘Oh, my gosh, are they crazy?’ But so many people are so sick of being told what to do and what to think and what fashion trends to follow, that a lot of them are looking for something different”.
“It couldn’t be any different for our wedding, so what we’re doing is we’re flying over minstrels – friends of ours – from Germany. We’re doing it in a castle with a Renaissance theme, and all of my bridesmaids will be wearing a different color and there’s not going to be any conformity. Everybody’s going to be whatever their own true personality is. Even the wedding bands have celestial themes, just to show that there are no physical boundaries on love.”

Dancer and the Moon (2013)
“A few years ago, I wrote candice a letter and gave it with a pink rose to one of the other band members. One week later a long letter from her arrived at my home with fotos and autographs from her and ritchie. She wrote that she loved my rose and that she is happy that young people as I am are listening to her music. The letter was so lovely. They’re such wonderful people.” Eva Böer
Candice as Special Guest
She sang on the Beto Vasquez Infinity album Infinity, a project done alongside Tarja Turunen (Nightwish) and Sabine Edelsbacher (Edenbridge).
“I did a song called “Light The Universe” that I loved by Helloween. It was their first duet and it did pretty well. We did a video for it as well.”
“I played woodwinds on a German schlagger song by a great singer and friend: Chantal. The song is called “Ship of My Dreams” or “Das Schiff Meiner Traume”
